Vinyl?!

Postby BeechwoodAve » Tue Oct 10, 2006 6:37 am

Wow - a vinyl version of Forty? What minor group of afficianados is that release geared towards? The collector that must have every version of every release? The die-hard audiophile that swears by vinyl over anything else (yes, I know, there IS more warmth in their sound)? For the platter-spinning DJs?

Interesting... anyway, I didn't know about Forty until after the signed/numbered versions were gone. So I'm probably number 1347 ro something like that. Hope that still counts!

My "Forty" #'d CD

Postby MrFab_1967 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 6:38 pm

Dear Flat Earth Socialites,

I own signed CD 072/1000 and also happen to have a framed poster from the "Aliens Ate My Buick" 1988 American Landing tour here in the US signed by Señor Dolby. ¡Ciencia!

I'm a Spanish teacher by day, folks.

72 is also my "favorite" number in the Marc Ecko clothing line.

Querido Retrocanario,

Quizas una clase de imersion te podria ayudar. (Perhaps an immersion class amy be able to help.) Rassias method may be of interest.

Have been to Spain but not Las Canarias.

I finally got around to checking these, but it appears neither my Forty nor Submarines have signatures or numbers. Oh well!
Considering I somehow came across Forty on CDBaby randomly looking for other things, I think that's pretty good anyway. Re-introduced me to Mr. Dolby and let me know he was still recording. Before then I only had GAOW & Astronauts & Gate.

Seriously, I don't have 40 or any numbers or anything signed by TD (even after the meet and greet). Just happy to shake his hand, chat and says thanks for the music.

P.S. I think I'll buy S.I. (DVD/CD) at a show in early Dec. Do you think any will be left? Wonder if the costs are the same (perhaps less without the postage). I have a feeling TD will keep a few $ more by selling direct at the shows (lets get him to work the merch table ;-) for signatures!

Are the songs the same for both items: DVD songs = CD songs?

Perhaps I need to move this to another thread...

Forty = 661

Postby Keith Was » Tue Nov 21, 2006 5:05 pm

My Forty number is 661. Also have another signed Forty disc (backstage meet & greet in Boise). He was also gracious enough to sign an Aliens poster and our ticket stubs that night. Bought signed SI poster there too.

My Submarines is signed, but not numbered. Some are numbered some are not?
