Golden Age of Wireless Cassette with Fairchild

Postby Melmoth » Sun Sep 14, 2008 6:22 am

Hi guys,

I've finally got my act together and put my spare original cassette of GAOW on eBay (the UK site) - this is TC-VIP 1001 which includes The Wreck of the Fairchild and the guitar version of Radio Silence (with Lene Lovich on "mantra") but doesn't include Science ort Submarines.

Here's the link:

There's some pictures of the cassette and inlay here:

Hope somebody is interested! It's well worth having for the history alone, and means you don't have to wait until the GAOW re-release to hear Fairchild or the guitar version of Radio Silence.

Relisted as it didn't sell!

Hi guys - nobody bid on this at all, so if anybody wants a bit of TMDR history, you get a second chance.

Somebody? Anybody?

I think it's pretty low traffic at the mo mate, when the re-releases come out you should get some punters.

It's been a real quiet few months, hope you sell OK!

Yep - nobody buying!

Looks like you're right, Mark - checking all TMDR items on eBay UK at the moment shows a lot of good stuff that nobody's bidding for! I guess everyone already has what they want or they're saving their pennies (or cents) for the re-releases and the new album. Ah well, it's got a few more days to run yet, maybe somebody will want it.

If it doesn't sell this time I might take your tip and wait for the re-releases - at first I thought that would be foolish, as nobody would want it once you could get the rare tracks on a proper CD, but on reflection I guess you mean the increased profile for Thomas might boost second hand sales too. Hope so.

Mind you, an apparently rare children's book that I coloured in myself as a nipper back inthe 70's has just been bid up to a tenner, so I can't complain. At least it's something towards the GAOW re-release!

Optimisms flame returns...

I'm hoping the rerelease will spark some fresh interest rather than fan the flame from the embers only, those who like to collect will dip back into the older formats if they like the material.............

No buyers

Just in case anyone cared, this didn't sell even when relisted - and I don't think £1.99 was too much to ask, was it? Ah well, I'll just keep it for a bit longer.

I did get £36 for my Space Crusade game, though. £36! I was amazed. eBay is the proof that one man's junk is another man's treasure.
