Now be nice - remember, most people reading it won't have heard of Dolby....

Bravo that man!

That is without a doubt the most balanced and most unpretentious mag article about Thomas I have ever read. Did my eyes just deceive me or did I really not read the word boffin at all!

Very nicely done.

Low Noise

Postby white city » Mon Oct 22, 2007 12:23 pm

I just realised that in Islington we experienced a Low Noise event! Did anyone else experience any Low Noise at Islington?

I can't beieve that it has taken me 2 weeks to realise that I had witnessed some live Low Noise.

>Holy crap Batman! That was Low Noise!

<honestly taken aback!>

I was expecting a blog entry about Islington gig or UK tour. It's been a month and nothing..

It’s probably because TD is on an amazing song-writing binge now and he is all consumed with getting those brilliant musical ideas transformed into sonic reality.

On a slightly more serious note, I would be nice for a new blog , removal of the now obsolete tour page and new posting(s) of recent show podcasts (including Sputnik and Moog fest, Lena L), etc. But good production takes time, kids need help with homework, and ‘life’ gets in the way of plans.

Hang in there I'm sure we'll see/hear more :)

M

Edit: Hey! Are we all leaning left these days? No more centered posts here (except in preview mode) hummm

I thought it was a browser thing, but I tried 3 diff. browsers and yeah, the posts are all left-leaning.

The topics are still centered in Opera and IE, but in Firefox they, too, are left-leaning.

With any luck he's busy recording "Girlfriend" ready for download next week. I doubt it though. But he probably is busy recording stuff.

When we spoke to Thomas after the Islington gig he said that apart from his TED committments his diary was completely free now, but if course up to that point things had been pretty hectic for him so maybe he's just recharging his batteries. My guess is that he's loving the new user interface in Logic Pro 8 that he just can't tear himself away from the it! Maybe he's down at Realworld with PG comparing the size of each other's.... sheds!

Whatever the reason I agree it would be wonderful to hear from the great man soon!

Cheers,
Andrew

There was an issue with centering in IE7 (EVERYTHING was center text)so to fix it, I had to left lean. You people seeing centered posts LIKED IT? I changed it by request...

I LOATHE IE, but enough of you use it that I have to bow to it. If you'd all just use Firefox....

Dammit.

An empty tour page seemed too depressing...so I left it. Hm.

Lunesse-

Please LEAVE the tour page up, so that those TMDR fans coming late to the party that is the Dolby renaissance can see how active he's been in the past two years and have some sense of what's to come...

*Looks around cautiously* Listen, I don't like IE, either...

I favor the Opera browser when using this forum, and it makes no difference to me whether it's centered or not. :D

I would've used Firefox, but for some reason, it doesn't log me in most of the time... :? :?:

Academy Photos

Postby elektrikgypsy » Sat Nov 17, 2007 6:34 pm

And just to illustrate the point about latecomers.... :)

I just wanted to let you know that I've finally had time to go through and upload the photos from the Islington Academy gig. I've spliced them into a post on my blog at http://www.thephoenixweblog.com. There's a brief write-up of the gig there, but not much that hasn't already been said on this forum! If you want to skip straight to the album of photos it's at http://elektrikgypsy.typepad.co.uk/photos/thomas_dolby_at_islington/index.html

Thanks for all the kind comments and feedback on the photos of the ICA gig - hope you like these too.

elektrikgypsy: a truly excellent set of photos - you can almost feel the sense of atmosphere between them onstage - thanks for sharing.

Does anyone know how difficult of a time I would have trying to get my hands on a cassette tape or record of Trevor Herion's solo work, or Fallout Club work? I'm going to buy Sole Inhabitant DVD and CD off Amazon but they had no Fallout Club or Trevor Herion. May the Cube be with you! ted
