Ritiboy - I agree with you! I think it's a fabulous album and one of the best of the year. We have been so lucky this year and there are some great new bands to get enthusiastic about. I've also bought Tthe Script's album but as yet, haven't had a chance to listen to it.

When I'm not playing Keane, I'm listening to Marillion's new album, Happiness Is The Road, which was a slow grower but I've now decided is actually very very good! One of the titles sounds a bit Thomas Dolby-ish - "The Man From The Planet Marzipan"! Good song, too.

If you liked Brave, I think you will - in fact, one of the things that caught my attention with the Planet Marzipan song was that the start reminds me of the opening of "Living with the Big Lie" from Brave. There's quite a lot of gentler, more thoughtful songs on this than their previous album, in fact quite a lot like Marillion.Com.

In fact, why not (plug plug) visit http://www.marillion.com where I'm pretty sure you can listen to tracks from the new album - well, albums, as there's two separate CDs, in fact. They're pretty good at that sort of thing.

The name of the band rings a bell, can't remember what song(s) they've done. Not sure I agree that there's really any fillers on Perfect Symettry... symetry... cemetary... the new Keane album... but I'll listen out for The Script and see if you're right!

The Script are a band from Dublin who have released their self titled debut album, the most well known song being "The Man Who Can't Be Moved". They are worth checking out as I think they are going to be big.

I was always annoyed that my soundtrack CD didn't include "Planet Schmanet Janet", as that was one of my faves from the film. Wonder if there's a version available these days that includes it?

Brief claim to fame, in my late teens (um, a little over 20 years ago) I had dinner with the charming Jonathan Adams who played Dr Scott (Dr VON Scott) in the film (I believe he was the narrator in the original stage version). He was staying for a few days with my parents' neighbour, they were invited round for dinner, and I just happened to be home from university at the time. The weather was lovely so we spontaneously moved the dinner out into the garden. He was brilliant company, very funny, and we drank until late into the night under the stars,a perfect day. Ah, memories.

Now here's a thought - wouldn't Thomas make a great Riff-Raff?

Hmmm....I do agree - I think the Script gonna be big. Trouble is I've seen Keane live a few (4 I think) times now and they are just brilliant and hold a lot of my affection.

Lesley - try a band called Thirteen Senses and their album Contact. I think you'd like it. Also a band called Asher Lane. Dunno why...just a hunch that they'd be up your street....
