yousendit is free for anything up to a gigabyte, i think, but we might easily exceed that limit. I'd rather not deal with lower sound quality, so if your FTP site doesn't cost you anything extra, that sounds like a great way to go. I use it for work all the time, and we use either 'stuffit' or 'zip' to compress a folder containing the files, never had any problem with that system.
i've been driving my wife crazy with repeated listenings to the original, and i was thinking, what do you guys think about adding a double-time rhythmic feel, either as an interlude between the 2nd and 3rd verses, and/or as an undercurrent throughout the song that could maybe sort of come up to the surface occasionally?
if you like the interlude concept, i was thinking of playing off the title of the song by doing some kind of techno "urban" take on a sort of "tribal" primitive groove, like maybe with a lot of layers of percussion, maybe contrapuntal guitar parts like an African rhumba? Anything there??
edit: here's a cool groove from TPOK Jazz, not to copy, but just to maybe inspire something. It shifts into second gear about 6:00.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb0cyHj2 ... re=related2nd edit: sorry, i meant that the interlude might go after the 2nd verse, before the 2nd chorus, after the lyric "and their eyes seldom meet" - or sumfin' or nuttin'!
