Doctor Who

Postby Darren Goldsmith » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:45 am

Hey folks

I don’t know if any of you are interested in Doctor Who but the audio company Big Finish have just released volume 2 of Short Trips, featuring 8 writers, one of whom is yours truly.

My tale 'Chain Reaction', is read by the lovely Louise Jameson, who played the 4th Doctor’s (Tom Baker) assistant, Leela.

I'm very interested! You got your episode out there! I am so impressed Darren! I'lll check these out as soon as I can! I was just saying to a friend at lunch that I needed some books on tape to listen to. Well I guess they aren't on tape anymore... What to call them now? Book on mp3 just doesn't have that ring to it!

Anyway, I've gotten hooked on the newer Doctor Who show, and I would love to hear your story and these others too! :D

This is such an awesome accomplishment. Congratulation!

Thanks very much! I'm chuffed to bits since it's my first published story (hopefully there will be more). The brief was to write a tale which included any of the first 9 Doctors... I decided to go for my favourite, as played by Tom Baker.

Also on the DVD is James Moran (nice bloke) who has written for Dr Who (the TV series), Torchwood, Primeval and Spooks... so I'm in pretty decent company!

Oh... and I think 'Audio Books' covers it. :)

Congratulations! I'll definitely snag a copy. I know it feels great to be published, and especially being able to reach a vast audience, too.

Bravo!

thats really cool

I've been listening to a lot of Radio 7 'fourth dimension' (at midnight) and they cover a lot of sci fi old and new.
A few weeks back they broadcast 'The Giant Robot' read by Tom Baker.

After a little difficulty navigating the site, I snagged my copy, and I would recommend it to not only those who enjoy Dr. Who, but anyone who enjoys a great story.

Are there any plans to have your story incorporated into the Dr. Who series?
