"Seeking Major Tom"

Just the disc you all have been waiting for…

Image

That paragon of acting talent has once again stormed the recording studio to produce another album. And it's a double-CD!

Here is the album write-up:

With a career that spans over 5 decades, Canadian-born actor William Shatner has become an instantly recognizable star of stage and screen whose vocal delivery, primarily in his performance as the square-jawed Capt. James T. Kirk , is...AS...iCONic...as it is... LEGENDARY. The versatile Shatner has also brought his unique interpretive talents to the music world as well, first in 1968 with the cult favorite The Transformed Man and later in 2004 with Has Been. Now Shatner has returned to familiar territory - space - in this wildly inventive concept album featuring brand new recordings of Shatner's much celebrated speak-sing delivery on a host of classic rock favorites and other space-themed songs. With guest appearances by an all-star cast of rock legends, Seeking Major Tom is sure to be one of the most talked about releases of 2011! Features distinctive interpretations of classic, intergalactic anthems by David Bowie, Queen, Deep Purple, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and more! Includes guest appearances by Steve Hillage, Steve Howe, John Wetton, Edgar Froese, Dave Davies, Warren Haynes, Carmine Appice, Michael Schenker, Patrick Moraz, Bootsy Collins, Zakk Wylde, Sheryl Crow, Ritchie Blackmore & Candace Night, Ian Paice, Johnny Winter, Lyle Lovett, Steve Miller, Peter Frampton and more!

You said it M.

You know, it will be said when he finally goes though won't it? Like Mr. T and all the other mythical creatures we've come to know for years and years!  :?

This actually makes my skin crawl, so I can't watch it again. But, if you get good and drunk (like Bernie Taupin had to have been to do the intro), you might be able ti sit through it without squirming uncomfortably. No wait. You'd have to get blind drunk and pass out to not squirm:

I'd say "enjoy" but...

Once again the genius of the Shat has come through. He seems to live his professional life by the motto "if you can't convince 'em, confuse 'em" and you have to admire him for it. :)

I heard about this on XM earlier this week. I didn't know Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream was on it. That's one of my other musical inspirations. I just may have to get this for the novelty factor.

No better way to pay tribute to good music by taking a big steaming crap all over it like he did here. I couldn't even sit through an entire song
