The R.E.M. breakup.

Postby Dooley » Wed Sep 21, 2011 1:31 pm

Without thinking, my first reaction was, "Thank God!"

I liked quite a few of the songs on their last album but the sound compression was truly awful. Their best days are behind them and I'm tired of forking out money for sub-standard product. Better to appreciate their classic albums without them muddying the water any more.

I haven't heard all of their new album. I've heard some songs and didn't mind them. One of them was very "It's the end of the world..." IIRC.

Their newer stuff is a load of balls, but I do like their older songs. I even quite enjoy Automatic For the People (*ducks the thrown objects*).

It was definitely time for them to break up, though.

Not enough songs about Ham. I think the one word Michael Stipe could really pronounce perfectly and yet not a single one am I right? Just close your eyes and picture it. haaaaaym. I think that he should go back and rerecord all of his material to make it more ham based personally. Ham in the place where you were. Its the ham of the world as we know it. Everybody hurts... some... ham? Anyways I'm not the song writer here!

Ha! I love a good laugh first thing, thanks Mondo.

I think you're onto something here. On the last record we were informed that 'Mine Smell Like Honey'. No way! 'Mine Smell Like Ham' is much more realistic.

I know my balls do.

It's been a great few decades for meat based music I think...
