Postby Lunesse » Wed Nov 02, 2011 9:26 pm

Thomas will be on BBC Breakfast tomorrow morning to plug the tour and album.

Sorry, but I do not know more specific times for his appearance on the show.

He appeared just before 9am.

Great interview - I didn't know Simon was about that! I loved his hat too!

The interview can currently be viewed here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/12155409
It appears around 15:15.

Thomas spoke sensitively, and candidly, about Harper. Excuse me if this is a plug of sorts but there's a series coming up on Channel 4 (in the UK) which looks at gender reassignment: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/my-t ... ual-summer

Cheers for the link Johnny, saved me having to fart wround with iPlayer :D

I was impressed with the matter of fact way in which the transgender issue was talked about, and not sensationalised as BBC Breakfast can do sometimes.

The Harper story was news to me so I really got a surprise expecting to hear the same history blah blah stuff that he has to do to bring each interviewer up to speed.

It's nice to see Thomas open up like that as he has the paradoxical need to been in the spotlight but also not to give too much away about himself. At the start when the presenter said the new album was 'personal' I didn't agree as none of the tracks (on the surface) came across that way and they seemed more performance then personal. Must listen to Simone again.

I've posted the interview on youTube as I guess the BBC link will disappear before too much longer...

Thanks for the repost, Steve. It's terrific that Thomas and Kathleen have been so supportive of Harper during his transition.

The news about Harper was not a complete surprise to Floating City players, as Thomas had referred to him as his son openly in his final email. Also, Thomas alluded to it in his blog post regarding Simone two years ago.
